Hello all, I am so sorry for being MIA for so long.  Between my job and being sick I just didn’t have enough left in me to come up with anything to write about.  I am loving this idea for today since I can use it in both my blogs – as it is about my life as well as a great journal prompt.  I honestly don’t remember where I found this list idea but it is from somewhere on the web – if anyone knows please let me know so I can give proper credit J anyway, this is a list of 100 things I love – and I for one think everyone should work on this list to either share or keep just for yourself.  It really helps remind you of how amazing life is – even the daily routine parts of it.

5/3/2012

Hello all,
I know I am not posting as regularly as I want to, but between working and playing and then getting sick for three days on top of it all, well life got in the way.

Today I would like to point you towards a blog that I read regularly www.marcandangel.com – it is great for inspiration as well as self-knowledge.

I went today to read “20 bad habits holding good people back” and followed a link in it to “12 things you should be able to say about yourself”.

I am going to just list the 12 things and follow with my take on them – please read the original as it is a great list and very inspiring.

1.       I am following my heart and intuition
                                I.            I try.  That is the best thing I think you can say about anything is that you try.  My heart says to go back to working with preschoolers, to teach art and journaling to teens, to start a home for pregnant and homeless teens and women so that they can all learn and help each other out and when they leave they have a good group of people to count on in life.  I am working on all these things but at this point, it is still a work in progress.
2.       I am proud of myself
                                I.            I am very proud of myself.  I am so much more stable now that I am on medication daily.  My drinking is very little now due to the medication helping me deal with life.  I am proud that I have lost a lot of weight – have I backslid a couple times?  Yes, but I realize what I am doing and work through it and don’t hate myself because of it.
3.       I am making a difference
                                I.            I like to think I am.  I help the homeless by helping my son and his friends whenever I can.  I help Sam and Rich with William and also show them things I have learned through the years as a parent so that they can become the best parents they can be.
4.       I am happy and grateful
                                I.            Yes, for the most part I am happy with my life and where my decisions have lead me.  Does this mean that I don’t ever have down days?  Not at all.  But now I know I have great friends and family who I can turn to on my down days to make them seem better.
5.       I am growing into the best version of me
                                I.            Growing up during the 80’s there was a Christian saying “please be patient, God isn’t finished with me yet”.  I try to be the best me that I can – and I try and try – because I have a lot of days when I go to bed knowing that I didn’t really make it.  But in the end I know it is all good because if God was finished with me – I wouldn’t still be here.
6.       I am making my time count
                                I.            I think I make my time count.  I fill my week with work, spending time with good friends and family, getting enough sleep to function properly.  Then I fill my weekends with FUN.  Hiking, exploring, roller derby, seeing live bands, meeting new people, making new friends, sharing all that life has taught me with others.  And planning for my future.
7.       I am honest with myself
                                I.            Most of the time.  My big downfalls are still (and probably always will be) yeah get the big bag of chips – you won’t eat them all this time.  And the same goes for cookies.  But I am honest about my weight and how it got here, does that count?
8.       I am good to those I care about
                                I.            I am very good to those I care about.  My friends are my family and I would lay down my life for my family.  I love hanging out with and spoiling my friends and family.
9.       I know what unconditional love feels like
                                I.            Yes, thanks to years of taking care of special needs children who had also been abused, I know what unconditional love feels like – and I need to remember this when I start looking for a relationship again.
10.   I have forgiven those who once hurt me
                                I.            For the most part yes.  Once I learned that forgiveness does not mean you ever have to forget it was much easier.  I will never forget the things that were done to me by others, but in forgiving them, it frees that much of my head and heart to be open to real love in the future.
11.   I take full accountability for my life
                                I.            No, no always.  It is something I work on a lot.  I do take accountability for my actions, but there will always be part of me that is Princess Laura and lives in Laura Land – it really is much nicer there lol
12.   I have no regrets
                                I.            I used to have regrets, but since my parents have all died, I realize that there is not time in life for regrets.  I did something, it didn’t turn out the way I thought – so be it.  As my aunt says “forgive yourself and move on”.  Life is too short for regrets.
Well, that should keep you all good and busy for a week or so……..
I hope everyone is having a great week,
Peace and luv to all

Checking in 4.26.12

I know I have been slacking with this blog since I went back to work so I am going to try posting from my phone at least for today lol.  So I don't have my lists of questions here so I am looking at bucket lists.  I think it is great to have all kinds of goals and essentially that is what a bucket list is, goals to do before you die.  so for today I think we will make a summertime bucket list.  Things you want to do this summer.
1. Hike the trail to cape flattery in neah bay
2.  Go to all the zoos I can find in western washington
So far I have woodland park zoo, point defiance zoo, cougar mountain zoo, seattle aquarium, northwest trek, wolfhaven and the olympic game farm to see this summer
3,  go to my aunts cabin before she sells it
4.  Fly a kite
5.  Touch a horse - I already held a pig at the spring fair so I can do this
6.  Roller skate
7.  Sell some of my homemade scrapbooks
8.  Hike all the way to the falls at marymere falls

Well that is my list so far - hope you have fun making yoursand doing them all
